Pumpkin Protein Muffins!

Tis the season for everything pumpkin, right? Everywhere you look, there's pumpkin flavored/scented everything (I've even seen pumpkin flavored chapstick!). So, if you can't get enough of it, here's a Team Beachbody recipe for some pumpkin protein muffins!

Another Peachy Recipe!

I thought I would continue celebrating National Peach Month with another recipe. If peaches aren't your thing, I apologize. To peach their own. ;)

Today's recipe is for Peaches and Creme Shakeology! I love that there are so many ways to vary up the daily shake! You don't have to have just plain old vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, greenberry, or the vegan flavors. Variety is so much fun!

Peaches and  Creme Shakeology

1 serving Vanilla Shakeology
1 cup frozen sliced peaches
2/3 cup water
1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice

Mix in a blender with ice (more or less to suit consistency preference). You can also add any of the new Shakeology boost powders for added benefits (Focused Energy, Power Greens, Digestive Health). Enjoy!

Healthy Peach Crumble!

Slow Cooker Tomato Soup!

It's hard to believe, but we're almost half way through September already! That means, Fall and cold weather are almost here....again. :/ Though, there ARE some perks to the cooler temperatures. While taking walks outside this week, I rather enjoyed the gentle rain and the fact that I wasn't overheating. Cloudy and cooler days aren't all that bad. In fact, that just means I can start wearing more layers again...and SCARVES! I sure do enjoy scarves; and am wearing one right now! I actually invested in a cheap scarf hanger a while back lol.

The other benefit to the chilly weather is the warm foods that we usually forget about in the Summer months. When I saw this recipe, I immediately started thinking of that wonderful feeling of being warmed from the inside out by a nice bowl of hot soup. Tomato soup has a lot of great nutrients in it too, so this is sure to be a great go-to for when you want something healthy and satisfying! I also like that it's a slow cooker recipe because you can just stick all the ingredients in the pot, turn it on, and come home to a welcoming and delicious aroma when you arrive home from work!

Baked Oatmeal Casserole!

Love it or hate it, oatmeal is good for you! Fruit is also good for you. So, how can you combine the two in a way that's tasty and ISN'T a hot breakfast cereal? How about baked oatmeal casserole? Yep, here you go! Another recipe find from Pinterest that I thought looked healthy and awesome! Ok, chocolate chips aren't SUPER healthy or anything (nor is brown sugar) but it's not TOO bad! ;) Give this a try and let me know how it is!

Tasty Energy Bars!

I'm not gonna lie. When I caught a glimpse of this picture on Pinterest, I thought they were doughnuts lol. Seriously! That's what made me do a double-take and say, "I wonder if those taste as good as they look?!" I clicked on it to see what all was in the blog and EVERYTHING looks great! I am definitely going to have to try some of these sometime because finding a fulfilling protein snack isn't always easy!

Patriotic Fruit Skewers!

Independence Day is just a week away! That means fireworks, food, and fun!! Praise be to God for all the men and women who have made the celebration possible! May we always remember the sacrifices made and the lives given for our freedom!

Fruit Salsa!

Believe it or not, things are FINALLY starting to warm up around here! I thought the long winter would never end! Now, it's Spring and heading into Summer already! I don't know about you, but there has already been some outdoor grilling going on in my my family! :) It's definitely prime cookout weather!

So, what kind of side dishes and appetizers go great with those burgers and brats? How about some fruit salsa? Yeah, FRUIT salsa! The best part is, you get taste AND low calories! Fruit is delicious and nutritious; and FULL of anti-oxidants! You can't go wrong with some of nature's best!

Asparagus Tart with Ricotta!


Every season comes with its own fruits and vegetables. Asparagus is one of those delightful Spring veggies! I don't know that I have ever personally cooked anything with asparagus, but I have eaten it before. I was browsing recipes for today and when I saw this one, I thought it might be a good one to try sometime! It definitely has some flavorful ingredients to go along with it!

Turkey Pesto Wrap!

For many of us we love to cook; we just don't have the "time". Harder still is finding something to make that is healthy for us. It's usually easier to just "grab and go" without really thinking about what we are grabbing and getting! That's obviously one of the perks of drinking Shakeology because when you need a quick, filling, and completely nutritious meal, all you have to do is shake it, drink it, and you're done! Though, if you have already had your shake for the day (I usually have mine in the morning) and you need a quick something for lunch, here's a good idea for you! Make a turkey pesto wrap! Keep tortillas, turkey slices, pesto, tomato, lettuce, and peppers on hand in your fridge and wrap it up fast for an easy lunch! Boom! Done! :)

Healthy Egg Salad!

The weather is getting warmer and I'm sure we're all thinking "now THIS is more like it!" Daydreams of picnics and get-togethers are one of the things that dance through my mind in addition for the opportunity to go for a nice run in the sunshine!

One of the things that you often find at gatherings are things like potato salad, egg salad, and things like that. They aren't always the most calorie friendly things, but I ran across a recipe that looked like a healthier option! Maybe it will be something you'll want to try for when it's time to get those picnic baskets out!

Strawberry Shortcake on a Stick!

I am SO GLAD that Winter is melting away and the warmer temperatures are on the horizon! It's SPRING and Summer is soon to follow! That means summer foods, cookouts, and enjoying the outdoors! That's why, when I saw this recipe, I just couldn't wait to share it because it just made me think of all those "warm" thoughts! This is definitely a simple, sweet, and low-calorie appetizer idea for whenever it's time for those cookouts and get-togethers! Who doesn't love strawberry shortcake?! Chicken Broccoli Tetrazzini!

When I was thinking of a recipe to share last week, I asked my boyfriend what a good idea would be. He said something "meaty" and "hearty" since it's cold outside. Actually, I think that is the typical response for a guy no matter what the weather is lol.

Well, for a nice hearty meal, no matter the weather (or gender), maybe this one would be worth a try! Chicken Broccoli Tetrazzini sounds very filling to me! You have your protein filled meat, veggies, and pasta. I think everyone in the family will get a nice serving of this to satisfy them!

Chicken Pot "Pi Day"!

In case you didn't know, it's "Pi Day"! Pi, of course, is the infamously long and mysterious number that begins with 3.14 (and today is March 14th). So, I guess it's only fitting to post a pie recipe today!

As you can see, even the Swedish Chef is taking Pi Day and incorporating it into one of his crazy concoctions (I saw this picture and couldn't resist!). Blueberry Avocado Muffins!

I like blueberries. I like avocados. Who would have imagined that you could EVER combine the two together to make something tasty lol? Well, someone did! I found this recipe on pinterest and I knew I'd just have to share this one! It's definitely something I would like to try and make sometime (yes, Chris, I know you will adamantly refuse to try it if I do lol). Blueberries have antioxidants; and avocados have the GOOD kind of fats in them. Sounds like a winner to me! :)

Chicken Parmesan Salad!

I love any recipe with chicken. By far, it's my favorite meat to eat. So, anything that says "chicken parmesan" is going to catch my eye. When I saw this one, it REALLY grabbed by attention. Ever see "salad" tacked on the end of it? :) Talk about winner winner chicken dinner! Sounds like a great recipe to me! You get your greens AND your protein; and it all looks so tasty!
